Chimney Sweep in Bloomingburg, NY
Just across the Sullivan County line at the foot of the Shawangunks, with an older village core and hard winter weather.
Chimney sweeping in Bloomingburg
A chimney sweep in Bloomingburg, NY starts at the flue. We brush it clean, clear out what has collected inside, and tell you plainly what shape the rest of the chimney is in. That is the same job we do anywhere. What changes from one town to the next is what we expect to find.
Bloomingburg is about seven miles north of Middletown, which makes it a short drive from our base at 40 Mulberry St. It is also a village in the Town of Mamakating, Sullivan County, just over the county line. A follow-up question two weeks later is not a scheduling problem.

Over the county line, and colder for it
Bloomingburg is the one community on our list outside Orange County. It sits in Sullivan County, in the Town of Mamakating, a short drive north up the valley from our base in Middletown. It is still well inside a sensible working radius, and we would rather say so plainly than leave you guessing at a county line.
The village sits at the foot of the Shawangunk ridge. The weather here runs colder and snowier than the valley floor around Middletown. Sullivan County winters are the harder end of what this region gets.
In chimneys that shows up three ways. A longer burning season. Heavier creosote on appliances run as main heat. And more of the freeze-thaw cycling that takes masonry apart.
The older village core has housing with real age to it, and the questions that come with age. Liners that may be cracked or absent. Soft historic mortar that should not be repointed with modern hard mortar. Tall stacks that have been weathering a very long time. Outside the village, larger lots and steady wood heat are common, which puts the focus back on regular sweeping and whether the flue suits the stove.
Snow load and ice matter more here than anywhere else we cover. Flashing at the roof line takes the brunt of sliding snow, and it is a frequent leak point on houses where nobody has looked at it in years.
What a visit looks like
Nothing about a Bloomingburg address changes the process. We look at the system before touching it. We cover the hearth and floor. We seal the fireplace opening and run a vacuum, so the soot ends up in the machine instead of your room. We brush the full length of the flue, clear what comes down, check what we can reach, then walk you through what we found. The full process is on our chimney sweeping page.
If something needs attention, we show you why. Usually with a photo. Then we explain the options, including leaving it alone for now when that is a fair choice. We do not price repairs we have not looked at.

Booking from Bloomingburg
Call (845) 685-9770. Tell us the address, what you burn in, roughly how often you use it, and when it was last swept if you know. That is usually enough for us to say what the visit should cover, what it costs and how long it takes.
Late spring through summer is much easier to book than October. Everyone calls at once after the first cold night. Booking in the quiet season also leaves room to sort out any repair before you actually need the fireplace.
